Normandy France
Normandy's role in world history Normandy is also a region of great beauty, and is a wonderful place to relax and unwind.
The Norman coastline stretches more than 370 miles (600km), filled with pretty harbourside villages, sandy beaches, and dramatic seacliffs such as Etretat. The countryside is lovely and picturesque - think patchwork fields with blackberry hedgerows and apple orchards; quaint villages with 'colombage' timber framed homes.
Mont St Michel
Enjoy your cheese? Normandy is heaven for the cheese lover! This is where Camembert, Pont L'Eveque, Petit Suisse and Boursin (among others) are made. And have you ever tasted Normandy butter? (After we tried it, there was no turning back!) Normandy is also a major cider producing region, and ]is famous for calvados, the apple brandy, and a huge variety of apple based treats. So Normandy offers a huge variety of things to do, no matter what your inclination (or appetite!) The following pages provide some useful normandy travel information that will help you plan your next vacation - ideas on where to go, what to see, and where to stay.
